The Mother's Day Caddis Hatch is truly an amazing experience! The top left photo shows the front of my truck after driving along the Yellowstone River one evening during the hatch.

The Grannom caddis larva make cases out of debri from the river bottom. These cases are extremely numerous and seem to cover the entire river bottom.

The photo on the bottom left shows the caddis on the river as the hatch begins to intensify. Compared to the peak, this is a moderate number of flies.
