Fish Foto Fixin' or FFF
Do you have some old favorite photographs from seasons past? You know, the good ole days way back when we had to remember to put film in the camera? One of my "winter projects" was to go through and sort out photographs from old albums, and drawers, and closets and boxes... Doing this brought back some very fond memories of fish, places and most important, friends, from long ago and far away.
One thing that really shocked me is just how many of those pictures had been damaged over time. You know what I mean: Lines, scratches, dust spots, sections ripped away from being stuck to other photos, coffee stains... If your old photos have been ravaged by time, weather, improper storage or were simply not correctly exposed to begin with there is hope. The capabilities of Photo Shop are to put in mildly, simply amazing!
This photograph underwent major restoration.
The photo above underwent some major restoration, from exposure correction to reconstructing missing sections, fixing tears, stains, constructing the rest of the fish's head to even replacing the lost sunglass lens! The lens was actually lost while fighting this fish. A restoration on this scale would require me to see the image to be able to provide you with a quote, not an estimate, to do restorative work. We are not happy until you are completely satisfied with your restored photograph. If you do not love your new photo you will not be charged. The "Before" photograph was not in any way altered to make it look as if the restoration was more extensive that it actually was. Every single imperfection is for real as is the restoration. Restoration services are available starting at $15.00. This includes touching up some minor defects such as dust spots, creases and stains that are not in a critical area of the photo. We will also do color, brightness/contrast and exposure adjustments. For photographs requiring more extensive work simply email me a copy and I will evaluate the extent of the restoration and send you a quote.
The photograph above is an example of a shot that just did not have an attractive sky. Sometimes the color is there and a little tweaking will bring it out. However, in this case the sky really was that bland, washed out white (not very common in Montana!). To help this photograph look better the sky was replaced and the hills in the mid-ground were worked on to give them some color and depth.
